Action News Jax reporter Jessica Barreto spoke to JSO, who told her Bendour’s daughter is still not ready to speak about this.

JSO tweeted the attack happened along University Boulevard North at 2:45 a.m. on Oct. 9, 2020.

Sidney Depusk was in the area with his girlfriend on Tuesday, but says he’d rather avoid the area when he can.

“What’s your impression of this area?” Action News Jax reporter Jessica Barreto asked him.

“Not very good,” Depusk said. “Why is that?” she replied. “There’s a lot of stuff always happening around here,” he responded.

A crime mapping tool shows there have been 53 serious crimes within a quarter-mile of the attack on Bendour.

“I wouldn’t wanto to get robbed or anything happen,” Depusk said.

Action News Jax went to where records show Bendour lived, but got no response there.

JSO says Bendour suffered serious injuries from the attack and passed away on Jan. 7, 2021.
