JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A teenage boy is dead after a drive-by shooting near Kooker Park Sunday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said the shooting happened around 2 a.m. on East 19th Street.

Investigators believe the victims were walking on the street with a group of people when a silver sedan drove by and opened fire at the group.

The teenage boy had multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene.

A second female victim was injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but is expected to be OK.

It is unknown if this incident was gang-related or not.

JSO said the suspects fled in an unknown direction.

Just over an hour after the first shooting, officers responded to a second one at the 15000 block of Lexington Park Blvd, near the airport.

According to JSO, an adult male had been shot in the arm three times. He was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said there were three possible suspects who fled the scene before police arrived. They were three males in a blue truck, possibly a Ford but the model is unknown.

Investigations are ongoing for both shootings.
