JSO: Elderly woman found deceased inside retention pond, no foul play suspected

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — An elderly woman was found deceased inside of a retention pond near the 8000 block of Noroad on Saturday, police say.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office originally responded to a missing persons call for the woman around 4 p.m. Upon searching the area, they located the missing woman in the pond.

Police believe she may have fell down the steep embankment of the pond and drowned because she was unable to exit. There is no suspected foul play.

The woman has not been identified.
