JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Icemen are set to launch their 10th anniversary season this weekend with two games against division rivals. Jacksonville hosts the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday, Oct. 16, before traveling to face the Savannah Ghost Pirates on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Friday’s home opener is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena. The franchise has designated the contest as a white-out night, with players wearing all-white uniforms and fans encouraged to wear white. On Saturday, the Icemen head to Enmarket Arena in Savannah, Ga., for another 7:00 p.m. puck drop.
Ahead of the regular season, head coach Sean Teakle announced the team’s leadership group for the 2026-27 season. Forward Bennett MacArthur was named the fourth captain in Icemen franchise history. Defensemen Jed Pietila and Jaden Condotta, along with forward Colby Ambrosio and Jacques Bouquot, were named assistant captains.
The Icemen enter the regular season after a 7-4 preseason loss to Savannah on Oct. 9. Ambrosio, Bouquot, MacArthur, and Brandon Yeamans scored for Jacksonville in the exhibition contest. Savannah’s performance was bolstered by assignees from the American Hockey League’s Charlotte Checkers, including forward Liam McLinskey, who scored three goals, and goaltender Tyler Muszelik, who allowed two goals on 12 shots.
Jacksonville holds an all-time series record of 41-37-10 against South Carolina, including a 3-2-1 mark over their past six meetings. The Stingrays recently added roster depth with assignees from their AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, welcoming forward Tyler Kopff, Ludwig Persson and Jalen Luypen.
Following home games at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena, Teakle will be available for post-game comments outside the coaches’ locker room, with players made available upon request. Tickets for the home opener can be purchased on the team’s official website.
