JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man said nearly $10,000 worth of fishing gear was stolen from his boat and dock.

Nate Ferguson, who lives on Dunn Creek, has a warning for others after 13 of his fishing rods were stolen.
“Even though this isn’t a high-trafficked creek, people on the Intracoastal and other parts of the river, take your stuff,” Ferguson said. “Beware of what you’ve got out on the dock. Pull it in.”
Ferguson said the theft happened in the middle of the night while his boat was on the boat ramp.

Surveillance video shows the suspected thieves in a boat pulling up to the dock. The camera captured one suspect handing fishing rods to a second suspect, who remained in the boat.
Ferguson said the thieves hit at least three docks.
Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating, but Ferguson is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
“Hopefully we’re hot on their trail and they’ll eventually get caught,” Ferguson said.
