In January, Brown, a music minister, was shot and killed while sitting in a car outside his aunt’s home in Grand Park. No arrests have been made in the case.
Since then, Chevie Green has worked tirelessly to give her aunt the fuel to keep going, despite the illness and the heartbreak. The community rallied around her—Chevie said that made a difference.
“They don’t know how much that impacted her. I truly feel that it gave her some more time of happiness on this earth,” said Chevie Green.
Chevie Green is asking the community to help grant one last wish for her aunt: Break the code of silence. She thinks someone knows something about Jerry Brown’s death and now's the time to speak up.
“No one has to know a thing. But you could get someone off the streets that could one day be careless enough to take your loved one away,” said Chevie Green.
