Jacksonville 'murder-for-hire' trial: Extreme measures taken to protect witnesses

Thursday marked day 3 of the trial for Quintae Hudson.

Hudson is accused of orchestrating the murder of a 62-year-old security guard named Michael Wright.

Investigators say Wright was set to testify against Hudson after seeing him allegedly throw a stone through a vehicle window, injuring a child.

Police believe Hudson is part of a local gang.

The court was apparently concerned about witness intimidation and cleared the courtroom while some of the witnesses took the stand.

Action News Jax was eventually let back in court, but the judge would not let the media record some of the witnesses.

We listened as one witness spoke about different calls he heard Hudson make from jail.

Hudson is charged with eight counts, including murder.

If convicted on all of the charges, he could face a life sentence.
