JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Public Library is hosting its annual book festival tomorrow, Sept. 19. The free, one-day event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Main Library in Downtown Jacksonville.
The event features more than 120 local authors alongside New York Times bestselling writers John Patrick Green, Jennifer Lynn Barnes and Emma Straub. Attendees can interact with authors, attend free author talks, and purchase books.
Located at 303 N. Laura St., the event offers interactive activities for attendees of all ages. Scheduled programming includes the LaVilla Student Writer Showcase, along with a book giveaway hosted aboard the River City Readers Bookmobile.
Activities for younger attendees feature face painting, character appearances by Mango and Brash, scavenger hunts with prizes, and an InvestiGators robot maze with a computer mystery.
The library will also host creative stations for participants, including bookmark making, book bedazzling, a DIY zine craft for teenagers, and a photo booth.
