JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man in his 20s is dead after a minbike he was riding collided with a red SUV being driven on Moncrief Road.
The driver of the SUV attempted to make a left turn onto 45th Street when the driver struck the minibike rider as he was traveling north on Moncrief Road, police said.
The accident occurred at about 3:45 p.m. The man driving the minibike was transported by Jacksonville Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
This is the 125th traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the 17th involving a motorcycle. Traffic was affected for a short period of time, but the lanes are now back open.
