JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was arrested for the murder of a 45-year-old man after he died from a gunshot wound following a shooting in January, says the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO).
Back on January 28, District 4 Patrol officers responded to a shooting on 103rd Street near Britton Lane. When officers responded, 45-year-old Porfirio Rosario arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. He died from his injury after arriving at the hospital.
JSO says 24-year-old Dominique Alexander was identified as the suspect after homicide detectives began speaking with witnesses and canvassing the area.
Evidence showed Rosario had been shot on 103rd Street while he was a passenger in a car. The driver of the car took him to the hospital.
JSO says they arrested Alexander for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon in March. He has been locked up in the Duval County jail awaiting trial for that case.
On Wednesday, JSO received a warrant for Alexander’s arrest in this case. Detectives arrested him for Murder, four counts of Attempted Murder, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
