Multiple crashes caused traffic delays in the Jacksonville area Tuesday morning

8:40 A.M. TUESDAY UPDATE: In a briefing, JSO says a female driver veered off Baymeadows Road and hit a light pole, causing JEA power outages in the area.

In regards to the multi-crash on I-295 northbound, all lanes have reopened.

8:11 A.M. TUESDAY UPDATE: JSO said there is a crash with life-threatening injuries at 10700 Baymeadows Road. They will address the media around 8:40 a.m.

8:08 A.M. TUESDAY UPDATE: FHP has opened one lane of traffic flowing around the crash on I-295 northbound.

7:58 A.M TUESDAY UPDATE: The crash on I-295 southbound at US 17 has been cleared, according to DOT. Traffic is still very congested in the area.

7:23 A.M. TUESDAY UPDATE: According to FHP, the crash at I-295 northbound at Beach Boulevard happened after a driver lost control, veered into a guardrail and then swerved back hitting another vehicle, causing it to flip.

Reporter Cole Heath spoke with FHP in regards to the crash causing backups in the Orange Park area. FHP says one person was taken to Orange Park Medical Center with minor injuries. The crash should be cleared shortly.

7:23 A.M. TUESDAY UPDATE: Another crash has been reported at I-295 northbound at the Alta exit, according to JFRD. The vehicle has rolled over.

There are a number of crashes in the Jacksonville area, according to authorities. They are listed below:

  • Per JFRD: Reported crash with injuries on I-295 northbound at Beach Boulevard.There are approximately seven cars involved and one vehicle is overturned. All northbound lanes in that area are closed. Action News Jax reporter Beth Rousseau is at the scene to gather the latest information.
  • PER JSO: Reported crash with injuries on I-295 southbound near Roosevelt Boulevard. All northbound lanes in that area are closed.
  • Crash reported at I-95 northbound at Lem Turner Road. The left lane is blocked and delays are building in the area.
  • Crash reported on on I-295 southbound at Baymeadows Road. A viewer photo from the area shows a JSO cruiser involved.
