According to JEA's media coordinator Gerri Boyce a crash is the cause of power outages in the Southside area.
The crash happened at 10700 Baymeadows Road. JEA crews have been on scene since the power outage was reported at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a female driver veered off the road and into a light pole. She was trapped inside the vehicle, removed by rescue and has been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
JEA crews are still on scene. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
