It’s the future of grocery shopping.
A new app, called H-E-B Go, lets customers skip the traditional checkout line.
Using your mobile device, you scan items on the app as you shop. When you’re done shopping, you scan the QR code on a kiosk and walk right out the door.
If you decide you don’t want an item, you can remove it before finalizing your purchase.
After the QR code is scanned, it automatically charges the card on file with the app.

Right now, the app is in the pilot phase and is only available in certain stores in Texas. More retailers are moving toward mobile grocery shopping.
Sam’s Club has its own app called “Scan & Go.” The company said it’s in the process of adding more features to its app.

Action News Jax reached out to Publix and Winn-Dixie to see if any local stores are using the new technology or if they plan to in the future.
