LONDON, England — When it comes to the Jaguars, Owner Shad Khan loves London, but he loves Jacksonville a lot more. He also loves winning, something the Jaguars have been doing a lot of recently.

“It’s great for the city, and it’s great for our fans. They’ve waited a long time. It’s not only that we’re winning, we’re winning in a way that’s sustainable. That’s the most important part,” Khan said when speaking to Action Sports Jax Brent Martineau Sunday morning on Countdown To Kickoff ahead of their week six matchup against the Houston Texans.

Khan acknowledged that the Jaguars have had fast starts in the past that have fizzled out and resulted in a failure to make the playoffs. But with this regime, Khan believes it’s different.

They proved it last year going 13-4 in the regular season, and Khan believes they’ll do it again this season.

“I feel good. I really feel even better [about] the players we have, the environment we have, the leadership we have...really everything that’s going on in this city,” Khan remarked.

The excitement isn’t just high because of what the Jaguars are doing on the field. It’s high because of what will soon surround the field they’ll play on for decades to come. While the Jaguars are in London, crews in Jacksonville are hard at work on the ‘Stadium of the Future’.

“I think it’s going to be a spectacular stadium. It’s going to help our fans and help our community because it’s going to be the largest covered venue in the state of Florida. I’m hoping we’re going to attract concerts and events that wouldn’t be coming to Jacksonville, and it’s really going to create more revenue and excitement for the whole city,” Khan said.

While the excitement for the stadium continues to build, another reason for excitement came to a boiling point last Sunday when Cam Little hit a walk-off FG as time expired to beat the Eagles 19-17. For Khan, the excitement was almost too much.

“I got the hardest cardio workout I’ve had, just standing. It was quite amazing.”
