Jason Hamby is a sports reporter for Action Sports Jax. He first joined Action News Jax in 2022 as a news producer and transitioned fully onto the sports team in 2026. Hamby is Jacksonville born and raised. He grew up in East Arlington, spending his childhood at Fort Caroline park. He is a graduate of Providence, where he played varsity baseball. He graduated from the University of Central Florida (although he's a proud Georgia Bulldog) and returned right back to Jacksonville. Hamby is a producer and co-host of the Brent & Austen Show, which you can watch every weekday at 10 a.m. on the Action Sports Jax 24/7 network. When he's not covering sports, he's coaching them. Hamby has coached youth travel ball in the area since 2021. As of 2025, he's been the Varsity Pitching Coach at Covenant School of Jacksonville.
