SCAM ALERT: St. Johns County warns of scams offering fake benefit savings

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County residents have reported receiving fraudulent phone calls from scammers claiming to represent the county government. The callers tell residents they can offer ways to save money on benefits.

St. Johns County government officials confirmed the calls are not coming from county offices. Authorities advise the public never to provide personal, financial, or benefits information to unsolicited callers.

County officials recommend that residents share the scam alert with friends, family and neighbors to help raise awareness and prevent identity theft or fraud.
