The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of two men they say murdered 30-year-old Dontae Alston on Wright Ave. in November 2016.

Deshawn Robertson and Keith Hines were arrested at a motel in North Carolina after a tipster alerted authorities of their location. A warrant for Robertson and Hines was issued in December 2016.

"On March 1, 2017, we received a Crime Stoppers tip indicating that the suspects were hiding out at a Days Inn in Rocky Mount, North Carolina," said JSO Lt. Steve Gallaher.

They were taken into custody by U.S. Marshals.

JSO said the men were arguing over drugs when Alston was hit by a bullet that was fired into the home. Alston died a short time later at the hospital.

Robertson and Hines are charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder.
