UNF and UF partner to host free STEM on the Lawn event Oct. 24

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The University of North Florida and the University of Florida’s Florida Semiconductor Institute are partnering to host “STEM on the Lawn,” a free community event for K-12 students and their families.

The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 24, at the J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater on the UNF campus in Jacksonville.

The initiative is designed to offer hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) experiences for learners of all ages. Activities will highlight how semiconductors power everyday technology, aiming to introduce students to potential careers as scientists, engineers, inventors and problem-solvers.

University and industry partners, along with regional science organizations, will host interactive exhibits throughout the amphitheater. Attendees can view engineering demonstrations, interact with robots and participate in virtual reality experiences while learning about academic and career options in technical fields.

The University of North Florida serves more than 18,900 students across six colleges on a 1,381-acre campus in Jacksonville.
