Human remains found in Georgia woods believed to be missing 72-year-old Glynn County woman

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Human remains found in Glynn County on Tuesday afternoon have been tentatively identified as those of a missing 72-year-old woman.

Linda Mansfield was reported missing from her home in the 100 block of MacKay Drive on May 23.

The remains believed to be hers were found in a wooded area off Georgia Highway 32 near the Thalmann community, according to a release from the Glynn County Police Department.

Mansfield's son, John William Rosevelt, was indicted by a grand jury for murder in connection with her death and is still incarcerated in the Glynn County Detention Center, authorities said.

Positive identification of Mansfield's remains is expected to be made by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
