The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced that it has decided to issue a citation to Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson for a early morning July 3 crash.
Robinson was behind the wheel when his car crashed into a retention pond near Beach and Southside boulevards and he appeared to be "asleep or fatigued," according to a Florida Traffic Crash Report filed by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
JSO Public Information Officer Christian Hancock said via email that Robinson "has been cited for the civil traffic infraction of 'Careless Driving' and that citation has been accepted by his attorney."
Hancock said a review of the officer's actions at the time of the crash, which was ordered by Sheriff Mike Williams, "has not been concluded."
