On April 17, 1994, young mom Tina Heins and her unborn child were stabbed to death in Atlantic Beach.
On the anniversary of her death, the Tina Livernash Memorial Scholarship Facebook page shared this message: "Twenty-five years. In some ways it feels like a lifetime ago and in other ways it seems like only yesterday."
The Wisconsin native (pictured here as a young girl) moved to Jacksonville in the 1990s along with her husband, who was in the Navy.
Initially, Heins' brother-in-law was convicted in the case, then 13 years later, he was exonerated by DNA.
Heins' parents started the Tina Livernash Memorial Scholarship in her honor. It helps raise money for low-income students to attend the private school she once attended.
Tina Heins' parents tell Action News Jax that they just want to find out what happened to their daughter in their lifetime.
If you have any information that could help solve Heins' murder, call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
