JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office evacuated two charter schools to be investigated for suspicious items.

Both Duval Charter School at Baymeadows, at 7510 Baymeadows Way, and Duval Charter School at Arlington, at 100 Bell-Tel Way, No. 100, were evacuated while police investigated.

The report for the Arlington campus came in at 12:44 p.m. and the report for the Baymeadows campus came in at 1:12 p.m., according to JSO Public Information Officer Christian Hancock.

Security reported the suspicious items at the Arlington campus and a 911 caller reported the items at Baymeadows.

At the Arlington campus, security called due to a suspicious package that turned out to be a misplaced box. At the Baymeadows campus, the call about suspicious items on campus was anonymous. Police are not sure who called and nothing was found.

Both schools were given the all-clear by JSO and students returned to class. The all-clear was given at Arlington at 1:59 p.m. and Baymeadows at 2:12 p.m., Hancock said.
