CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A little boy from Oakleaf who is known in the area for his dance moves has died.
Wyatt Morrison, 4, was diagnosed on Dec. 5 acute myeloid leukemia. AML leukemia only affects 500 children a year, according to cancer.net. AML leukemia effects many adults, with an average age of 67.
After four rounds of chemo, Wyatt had a bone marrow transplant on April 8. He died Monday night.
Visitation will be Friday, May 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Oakleaf Baptist Church in Orange Park. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 23 at 10 a.m. at Oakleaf Baptist Church.
The Oakleaf Plantation Community rallied around Wyatt and helped raise awareness as well as to support his family.
Action News has teamed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to fight the disease. Action News morning anchor Phil Amato is competing to become the 2015 Man of the Year.
Until June 5, Amato is working to win the title by raising the most money for the cause.
