911 calls reveal motive for violent rampage in Nassau

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — Inside his Nassau County home, 59-year-old Allen Fourtunia was armed with a gun, while outside he was surrounded by police Tuesday.

Fourtunia had just killed 53-year-old Steven Swan outside the Yulee Walmart, and then fired shots at witnesses who followed him home.

Moments later he called 911, while exchanging gunfire with police.

“I will shoot to kill,” he told the operator. “You tell police to f****** pull back. I'll tell you my story or what's going to end up happening is I'm going to be shooting at f****** officers again.”

For nearly 20 minutes, Fourtunia continued to talk, claiming he was laid off from a military job years ago, and that he still blamed Swan, his former supervisor.

“I went to Walmart at the end of the street and I saw him there and I ran the son of a b**** over. This is really just happenstance. I didn't go looking for the guy,” he said.

Before hanging up, Fortunia told the dispatcher he had a bomb. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office SWAT team later found an open propane tank near Fortunia's body.

“I never really wanted this to happen this way,” he said.

“Well, you're the one who can make it happen a different way,” the operator told him.

“No, no, no, no, no, no. The United States government pushed me into a corner because they wanted to prove a point and now I'm going to prove a point. You might as well clear the neighborhood because this house is f****** rigged for an explosion,” he responded.
