Clay County animal shelter seeks temporary homes to help pets weather Hermine

Clay County Animal Care and Control is asking for help for dogs they care for ahead of Tropical Storm Hermine.

The agency needs local families to serve as “storm troopers” to assist pets through a couple of bad weather nights.

They’re calling it Bow Wow Breakout. A family would take in a dog for a few days to weather the storm in a loving home instead of the shelter.

This is the first time Clay County Animal Care and Control has done this and the staff says they will help you pick out a dog best suitable for your family.

The shelter hopes this will also lead to adoptions.
