A downtown Jacksonville road is now shut down after the Florida Department of Transportation recommended it to close because the road is in bad shape.
The section of Coastline Drive right in front of the Hyatt is now closed. It includes a portion of the Northbank Riverwalk.
Action News Jax has been closely following a history of structural problems in the area.
Both Coastline Drive and Liberty Street have been labeled as structurally deficient since the 90s.
And now, Jacksonville's bridge problem has gotten bigger, leaving some people who love running on the Northbank Riverwalk frustrated.
"You have to go through the building, go through the street … over there I have to the street because there's like a big detour," said jogger Eileen Madal.
We asked to see the inspection report, but FDOT said it can't release it because of homeland security issues. A spokesperson said it could reveal the bridge's weaknesses to the wrong people.
