Crime Stoppers are offering an increased reward for tips that lead to an arrest in the cold case murder of a Lake City teenager.
The Lake City Police Department said on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019 at 2:45 p.m., Jordan Dartice Freeman, 18, was hanging out with three friends at the Windsong Apartments (2990 SW Windsong Circle) near building 10.

LCPD the suspect told the group to “run you guy’s pockets,” slang for his intentions to rob them and approached them and felt their pockets.
Police say when he approached Freeman, a fight broke out between the two and ended with Freeman being shot in the head. He died of his injuries.
Right now a reward of up to $9,500 is being offered: $1,000 from Crime Stoppers of Columbia County and up to $8,5000 is now available through the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers in partnership with the Florida Office of the Attorney General.

To be eligible for the reward, the tip must come through the Crime Stoppers program. If law enforcement is contacted first you will not be eligible for the reward, according to LCPD.
