JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Watch Action News Jax on FOX30 & CBS47 for the very latest.
A large police presence was seen at a Gate gas station on Merrill Road in Arlington on Thursday morning.
An officer told Action News Jax reporter Alicia Tarancon that the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery that took place at the gas station. It led to a police chase that ended on Townsend Boulevard.
The police officer said no one was hurt during the robbery.
Action News Jax saw two people being detained and a black SUV on Townsend Boulevard. Tarancon is working to learn how it’s related to the case and asking the sheriff’s office if they’ll be releasing the names of those involved.
This isn’t the first robbery at that location. In 2018, Martin Howard, a beloved clerk, was fatally shot at the gas station during an armed robbery.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
