JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Tuesday night, the Jacksonville Beach Board of Adjustments gave the green light for a $7.5 million restoration to the iconic Beach Bowl.
The iconic spot will once again become a staple. Bowling will be a given, but the landmark is getting a big upgrade with the addition of a restaurant, rooftop seating and other entertainment options.

Jacksonville Beach resident Brandon Parker says, “I’m really excited to see Beach Bowl come back. It’s good to see something like that coming back and being revamped even more.”
The $7.5 million Beach Bowl project is just the latest development to hit the beaches community.
In the last two weeks, the Margaritaville Beach Hotel officially opened its doors and has already become a new popular destination.
Plus, the demolition of the old Campeche Bay Cantina and Ruby Beach Brewery have opened space for property that will soon turn into restaurant, retail and event spaces.
These are projects that are designed to keep people in Jacksonville Beach.
Mayor Chris Hoffman explains, “A lot of people just drive right past Jacksonville Beach on the way to dinner or an evening out, and we want them to stop in Jacksonville Beach; or if they’re staying here in a hotel like this, to stay in Jacksonville Beach.”
She says this is just the start of many great weeks ahead for the city, and these are projects that have locals excited for what’s to come.
Parker explains, “It’s great to see new places coming up. I wish it was a little quicker because I feel like there are a lot of empty buildings around the downtown Jax Beach area, but it’s good that new businesses are coming in. We needed something like that.”

As for the potential for increased traffic, Mayor Hoffman says the downtown area has the infrastructure in place to handle the highest density of people in the city.
Adding that the goal would be for visitors and locals to be able to bike or walk to all the new spots.
