Motorcyclist dies in crash on Monument Road Saturday night, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said an adult male in his 30s is dead after crashing on Monument Road just before midnight on Saturday, Nov. 13.

JSO said it is unclear what led up to the crash, but a pickup truck with three occupants and a motorcycle were both traveling north on Monument Road when they collided between St. Johns Bluff Road and McCormick Road.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The three in the pickup truck were uninjured, JSO said.

Monument Road was closed for several hours from Derringer Road to Oak Water Drive as officials were investigating and searching for answers.

According to JSO, this is the 43rd motorcycle fatality and the 185th traffic fatality in Duval County.

JSO is still actively investigating the crash.
