Some Jacksonville Beach bars announce closures following statewide order

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — Some bars in Jacksonville Beach are closing their doors after a statewide order prohibiting the sale of alcohol for in-person consumption at bars was announced Friday.

Surfer The Bar and Hoptinger in Jacksonville Beach announced closures through the weekend. A sign on the front door of Surfer The Bar said the bar would be closed until next week.

The Shim Sham Room on 1st Street also closed its doors.

The Ritz Bar’s Facebook page announced an indefinite closure “due to new DBPR regulations.”

However, not all area bars have shut their doors yet.

We will update this story if more bars announce closures.
