The parents of Lane Graves have launched their mission to help save sick children in honor of their son.

In June of 2016, the two-year-old boy was playing in the sand along a lagoon while on vacation at a Disney resort in Orando, Florida, when he was grabbed by an alligator.

His father, Matt Graves tried to pry his son from the gator, but the child was pulled into the water. The child was later found dead.

As a way of honoring the toddler, his family has launched The Lane Thomas Foundation, with the goal of helping families of children who need organ transplants.

"We want parents to know without judgment that if they decide to make the ultimate decision to donate their child's organs, they will prevent other parents from knowing their pain," father Matt Graves said.
