FHP: Man killed crossing Blanding Boulevard in a hit-and-run incident

DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol reported that a pedestrian was killed Sunday morning in a hit-and-run incident on Blanding Boulevard near Morse Avenue.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that at around 4:20 a.m., an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound in the inside lane of Blanding Boulevard. At the same time, a male pedestrian was walking in the inside lane and was struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian came to his final resting place in the inside southbound lane, and the driver fled the scene.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.
