First Alert Weather: Few storms through early evening; heat continues

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Here’s what the First Alert Weather Team said you can expect for the forecast:

  • This evening will be very warm and humid with a few showers/storms in Northeast Florida.
  • A few gusty winds of 40+ mph are possible in any stronger storms.
  • Showers and storms will taper off after sunset.
  • Thursday will be very hot with high temperatures of 95-100 degrees across the region.
  • The humidity will allow feels like temperatures to soar to 105-110°F. Everyone should practice heat safety by staying hydrated and limiting outdoor work during the hottest part of the day. 
  • Scattered sea breeze showers and storms will develop tomorrow afternoon, primarily across northeast Florida. Some will contain heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty winds. 
  • The Jags preseason game Friday will feature hot temperatures in the 90s (feels like 100s) but cooling during the game from sunset and/or a few areas of rain and storms nearby.
