According to a news release, testimony and evidence presented at trial revealed Rivera gifted three items to the child: a Bluetooth speaker, calendar/clock, and a USB charging tower. All three had hidden cameras. A hidden camera smoke detector was also discovered in the living room.

When the child’s mother discovered the cameras, she contacted the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

At the time, Rivera was out of the country.

CCSO and Homeland Security Investigations got Rivera’s cell phones during a border search when he reentered the country.

According to the release, officials found child sexual abuse material and “phone activity related to the use of the app for controlling the hidden cameras.”

Rivera was found guilty by a jury on Sept. 5, 2024.

After being released from prison, he will be required to serve a 10-year period of supervised release.
