Florida’s largest food bank will be handing out food to Jacksonville residents in need

Farm Share to distribute food on Aug. 26 and Aug. 27 (Farm Share)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, Farm Share will be distributing fresh produce and non-perishable canned goods with God Children’s Ministry. The location will be at Henry L. Brown-Kooker Park located at 2902 Bennett St., Jacksonville, Fl. 32206.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, distributions are drive-thru only. This will minimize contact and help to ensure the safety of everyone.

People must arrive in a vehicle with a trunk or cargo bed.

Farm Share will also be holding a food distribution event with the West Union Baptist Church at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27. That location will be at 1605 W. Beaver St., Jacksonville, Fl. 32209.

According to Farm Share, it currently serves all 67 counties in Florida. Since its inception, it has distributed more than 751 million pounds of food. In 2020 alone, Farm Share distributed more than 104 million pounds of food and served more than 86 million meals to Floridians.
