Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has this to say about this morning’s events:

ORIGINAL STORY:

Glynn County School Police confirmed that Brunswick High School is on lockdown after a prank caller threatened to shoot up the school.

Glynn County School District told parents and Action News Jax that the school has since been cleared by police, but as a precaution, all Glynn County schools have been placed on a Code Yellow lockdown.

Code Yellow means that lessons are allowed to continue within the classroom, but students and staff are not allowed to enter the hallways.

Glynn County School District also confirmed that several other school districts throughout Georgia received similar calls Wednesday morning and have begun investigating these reports.

In Glynn County, police presence has been heightened on all campuses to closely monitor the school grounds and student body.

The school district promised to provide updates as they become available.

Action News Jax’s Kennedy Dendy is headed up to Brunswick to find out more.
