Have you seen him? 69-year-old needs help finding emotional support parrot, Koa

Owner believes bird may have flown out front door

LAKE CITY, Fla. — Betty Albritton, 69, of Lake City, is asking the public for help to find her emotional support parrot, Koa.

The bird is a male Solomon Island eclectus parrot and has been her emotional support companion for post-traumatic stress disorder for five years.

Albritton believes Koa may have flown out of her front door Nov. 5.

"I have pushed myself almost to exhaustion trying to find Koa," she says. "I believe he flew to someone and has been taken in by someone that maybe isn't aware of his circumstance."

Anyone with information on Koa's whereabouts is asked to text Albritton at 386-406-1273.

Koa can also be taken to the exotic bird hospital at 8820 Old Kings Road South in Jacksonville.
