More than 100 flights are canceled because of a COVID-19 outbreak that’s affecting flight crews.
Travelers who are flying with United and Delta airlines should double check their flights.

United Airlines had to cancel some flights because of the omicron variant, directly impacting flight crews and people who run airport operations.

Action News Jax reporter Alicia Tarancon is checking all Christmas Eve departures and arrivals using FlightAware, a flight-tracking website, and it appears to be five delays and six cancellations at Jacksonville International Airport for today and at least one cancellation on Christmas Day for a Delta flight.
Across the country, United canceled more than 150 flights because of COVID-19 on Thursday.
Delta Airlines also canceled more than 100 flights Christmas Eve.
Despite the surge in cases, JIA has been a busy spot for the last few days as travelers make the trek to see loved ones.
Many say they are traveling this year because of pandemic fatigue. Even a new variant wasn’t going to slow them down.
United officials said it is notifying customers if their flight was impacted.
