Apollo 7 was the first crewed space mission and when it was completed, its crew splashed down on the Atlantic Ocean.
The astronauts were recovered by the USS Essex and McIntyre’s dad was there.
“He got shots of that and the men coming out of the capsule in the ocean,” said McIntyre.
The photos were in the form of slides that were in a projector.
For more than 50 years, her family has kept those photos safe.
“We would have family nights when he was home and we’d just sit on the floor and he’d put the projector on,” said McIntyre.
But now those memories are gone after her home on Lewis Street in Atlantic Beach was burglarized.
Aside from the photos, she said about $1,000 worth of items were stole including a vacuum cleaner and weed wacker.

It happened April 28 as she was in the process of moving out.
“I proceeded down the hallway to the bedroom and I noticed some things of mine were open on the floor of the stuff I was coming back for,” said McIntyre.
She believes it’s likely the burglars had no idea what they were taking, she fears they’ve been tossed out by now.
“I feel like a part of my dad was taken when they took that,” said McIntyre.
For her, they were more than just photos they’re a piece of history.
McIntyre is still hoping someone will do the right thing. She has this message for whoever stole them.
“I pray for them and that they change their ways,” said McIntyre.
She said she wanted to someday share the photos with her kids and maybe even tell NASA about their existence.
