The Jacksonville Jaguars announced Wednesday that Cam Robinson has signed his franchise tender.
The move guarantees Robinson a salary of $16.6 million.
National Insider for NFL Network Ian Rapoport reported in March that the franchise was expected to put a tag on Robinson, a move that would keep him off the free agent market and in Jacksonville for the upcoming season.
A surprise: The #Jaguars are expected to franchise tag OT Cam Robinson, locking in their valuable OL for 2021 and keeping him from the free agent market. He was to be one of the top tackles available.

Rapoport said keeping Robinson on the team is being done likely to protect Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who will likely be taken by the Jags as first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
With the No. 1 pick and presumably #Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence, the #Jaguars are prioritizing protecting him. Cam Robinson stays in Jax. https://t.co/plsfLAi7nP
