JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Transportation Authority is heading into the new year with big changes in the way it looks and operates.

The company moved into its new headquarters this week. Action News got a sneak peak at the new building.

The new JTA headquarters is located deep in downtown Jacksonville. The agency said the new 10-story building allows it to expand and continue to move forward.

JTA spokeswoman Leigh Ann Rassler said the authority plans a lot of changes, including turning the Myrtle Avenue building into a natural gas fueling station.

Rassler said the agency also is looking at the Skyway system.

"Right now we are in a re-evaluation period or an assessment study to determine what the future is for Skyway looks like," Rassler said.

JTA said the plan is to have everything completed by the end of 2015.

JTA is expanding Skyway hours for the New Year's holiday. The Skyway will operate until 2 a.m. New Year's Eve and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year's Day.
