JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man has been arrested in connection with the robbery of a Cedar Hills food mart and shooting a clerk.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a clerk of at Bill's Food Store on Confederate Pointe Road was shot in the face on Wednesday.
A witness called 911 and gave a description of the suspect.
Police said the suspect, Martinis Williams, was spotted running toward a police substation after the shooting and was arrested.
Surveillance video shows Williams pointing a revolver at the victim, police said. As the victim takes money from the register to hand it over to the suspect, is seen shooting the victim in the face, according to police.
Police said Williams was covered in blood when he was arrested and had stolen cash, cigarettes and a gun on him.
Williams faces charges including attempted murder and armed robbery.
