The Dean of Students at a Duval County school was injured breaking up a brawl, a police report said.
The incident occurred last October at Mandarin Middle School. A 13-year-old is charged with battery.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, School Dean Kyle Powell hurried to break up a fight between the 13-year-old and several other students.
JSO says Powell was restraining the 13-year-old, who was flailing her arms and screaming "Get the [expletive[ off me."
The police said Powell was struck in the chest and kicked in the leg. Powell suffered a hamstring injury, JSO said.
A warrant was issued for the teen in October, but she wasn't taken into custody until November when she turned herself in, police said.
