NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — A Nassau County wedding venue is back open after complaints from neighbors.
Six weddings and two holiday parties were canceled in December after a dispute over zoning and noise shut down thePlantation Oaks Farms in Callahan.
It took the county's zoning board to decide that the property can host events inside a custom-built barn.
Neighbors originally said the property wasn't zoned as an event site.
The cancelled events cost the owners about $30,000.
Several vendors working with the farm also lost out on business during that time.
“It’s been heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking,” said Brandi Jackson, owner of Handmade Rentals Vendor.
Several types of events, such as weddings, are now allowed to happen at the farm.
Several events are booked for February.
