NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a cyclist was hit twice on State Road 200 on New Years Day.

According to the crash report, at around 6:20 p.m. Sunday, the cyclist, a Ford F-150 and a Dodge Ram 5500 were traveling westbound on SR 200, west of Adams Street, in the outside lane. The Ford struck the cyclist first, and then the Dodge, which was traveling right behind the Ford, hit the cyclist again.
The cyclist was transported to UF Health Shands and later died. The identity of victim has not been confirmed.
The 36-year-old driver of the Ford and the 65-year-old driver of the Dodge, both of whom are from Fernandina Beach, are cooperating with law enforcement.
