The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department said two people were reportedly in trouble in the water by Little Talbot Island on Saturday afternoon.
According to a public information officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, one of the two victims has died, and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office will be leading the investigation.
JFRD initially said they responded to the scene at 2:25 p.m., and tweeted they located the second person at 3:39 p.m.
The FWC and JSO assisted JFRD with locating that second victim.
The condition of the other person has not been released.
The second person has been located and pull onto Marine 38 fire boat.
