ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Clerk of the Court will hold its annual Operation Green Light driver’s license reinstatement event April 4-8.

“Operation Green Light is an opportunity for members of our community to pay their delinquent court obligations and traffic tickets, save money on collection agency surcharges and potentially get back on the road,” said Clerk of Courts and Comptroller Brandon J. Patty. “We hope residents take advantage of this program, especially in a county as large as St Johns where having a license is essentially required to work, live and play.”

Operation Green Light is a statewide initiative sponsored by Florida’s Clerk of Courts where individuals in participating counties can pay their overdue traffic tickets or court fines that have been sent to a debt collection agency. Participants have the potential to save between 25% and 40% of their collection agency surcharge.

Payment must be made in full and paid during the Operation Greenlight event. Under Florida law, late fees cannot be waived.

An individual whose case has not been sent to a collection agency may be eligible for a payment plan and reinstatement of a suspended driver’s license if all requirements are met. Statutory fees and late charges are applicable, and additional fees may be required for reinstatement with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
