Outgoing State Attorney Angela Corey will serve as General Counsel for Clay Sheriff

Sources tell Action News Jax that outgoing State Attorney Angela Corey will be new General Counsel for the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

Corey has served as State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit since 2008. She was defeated in the August primary election by Melissa Nelson.

“Ms. Corey is the subject matter expert when it comes to the application of the law and conveying that to law enforcement. She will bring her more than 30 years of experience as a prosecutor to conduct extensive training for mid-managers, supervisors and deputies on properly applying probable cause to affect lawful arrests,” said Clay County Sheriff-elect Darryl Daniels in a release.
