Pedestrian hit, left lying in road after being hit on Beach Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville police are searching for a driver who they say hit a man on Beach Boulevard street and left him in lying in the road.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit just after 11 p.m. Wednesday near Walmart on Beach Boulevard, close to Southside Boulevard.

A witness told the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office that they saw a white car leave Walmart and turn left onto Beach Boulevard at the same time a man was crossing the road.

The witness didn’t see the impact, but heard it and saw the man lying in the road and the driver speeding off.

The man was taken to UF Health Jacksonville.
